R RubyUp / self-hosted rails apps
3 on the shelf Self-hosted · One-time license

Rails apps you actually own.

A small catalog of self-hosted Rails applications. Buy once, run our installer, and the app lives on a server you control — for as long as you care to keep it. No SaaS rental. No expiring keys. Yours, permanently.

§ 02 · How it works

Three steps from checkout to deploy.

No accounts to manage, no recurring bills. The license key is emailed the moment payment clears, and our small CLI does the rest.

  1. 01 · PICK

    Choose a title

Free apps need only an email; paid apps check out with Stripe. One license per copy — no seats, no tiers.

  2. 02 · KEY

    Get your license

We email a license key as soon as payment clears. It is yours, permanently — the key never expires and updates ride on the same line.

  3. 03 · DEPLOY

    Run the installer

Install the small CLI, configure it with your key, and run discode install <app> to deploy on your own server.

§ 03 · About

The house style.

Building Super Awesome Web Apps

Hi, I’m Roel, and I run RubyUp, a small software studio focused on building stable, sustainable software that people actually want to use for years, not months.

I don’t chase trends. I don’t build throwaway MVPs. At RubyUp, I focus on creating well-crafted web applications powered by Ruby on Rails. A framework that has stood the test of time and allow me to move quickly without compromising quality.

In today’s world, too many products are rushed out the door just to meet a deadline. That often leads to broken, hard-to-maintain code. I take a different approach. I build slowly, carefully, and with intention. My focus is on longevity, performance, and simplicity. Good software should age gracefully, not fall apart.

RubyUp isn’t an agency, and I’m not looking for clients. I’m here to build software I believe in. Software that does one thing well and is built with care. If that sounds like something you value, you might like what I’m working on.

If you’re curious about how I think or want a deeper look into my approach to software, I share my thoughts over at roelbondoc.com.

RubyUp is small by design, and that’s what makes it great.
